Offshore Expedition

Los Cabos is a hotspot for pelagic wildlife, positioned at the meeting point of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez, where deep, nutrient-rich waters fuel an incredible marine ecosystem. This region acts as a natural migratory corridor, drawing some of the ocean’s most iconic species.

The deep offshore drop-offs create a thriving food chain, beginning with plankton blooms and vast schools of baitfish, which in turn attract apex predators and massive marine aggregations. Situated at the southernmost tip of the Baja Peninsula, this area serves as a gateway for pelagic life moving in and out of the Sea of Cortez.

During this expedition, we’ll be searching for these dynamic hotspots, where we may encounter enormous schools of tuna and dorado, blue and Bryde’s whales, superpods of dolphins, and countless other surprises that the open ocean has in store.

We will do our best to attempt to enter the water with the animals we encounter, however we first closely observe their behavior before deciding to dive in to ensure successful encounters and that we are not being overly invasive. Please note it is not permitted to swim with whales, but we can watch in awe from the boat if we are lucky to encounter them.
