The bay, shaped by El Sargento down to Punta Arena and then enclosed by Isla Cerralvo, is punctuated by a fathoms-deep canyon that collects nutrients. From April to August, when the winds die down, we are happy to offer our signature marine safaris in this unique location. We can hope to encounter schooling mobulas, super pods of dolphins, whalesharks, various baleen whale species (Blue, Bryde’s, Fin), and possibly Orcas.
We can also pay a visit to the sea lion colony and potentially encounter Oceanic Manta Rays at the small island of La Reina. Explore another side of Baja rich with life and beautiful landscape.

Departing from Playa Central in La Ventana, we will set out in the bay with a general plan depending on weather conditions and recent sightings, but always having our eyes and ears peeled for wildlife we may come across.
We will do our best to attempt to enter the water with the animals we encounter, however we first closely observe their behavior before deciding to dive in to ensure successful encounters and that we are not being overly invasive. Please note it is not permitted to swim with whales, but we can watch in awe from the boat if we are lucky to encounter them. Your expert guide will share interesting information about the area we are exploring and the marine life we can encounter. They will always keep you safe in the water and do their best to make sure everyone has the best encounters possible.
The ocean is unpredictable, and our safaris can run the full spectrum from action-packed to slow yet steady. It is important to keep an open mind and be ready for anything.
