Silky Sharks
Silky Sharks, the world's most abundant pelagic shark species, gather around southern Baja in summer for mating. These sharks, with their smooth skin and slender bodies, can form schools of up to 100+. Growing up to 2.5 meters/8 feet, they are confident and curious, often approaching closely.
Smooth Hammerhead Sharks
The warm summer waters also attract the shy Smooth Hammerhead, the second-largest hammerhead species, reaching up to 5 meters/15 feet. Notable for their tall dorsal fin and smooth hammer-shaped head, these solitary sharks usually travel near the surface. Though they can be timid, their interactions are uniquely captivating.
